Services

  • Roving Reference- Provides research assistance outside the reference desk. The purpose is to provide reference service assistance where students get other academic services, plus to be aware of the library services & resources.
  • Ask a Librarian - provides accurate and instant answers to reference questions through E-Mail: [email protected] or social media sites Facebook, facebook.com/MCL.CLIR and telephone number (049) 832-4000 loc. 1300.
  • Database searching assistance - Provides instruction and assistance on how to access subscribed online databases, the use of the Internet, Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), and other multi-media and web based facilities. Also prepares instructional access guides, video/online tutorials and information sheets concerning electronic resources and databases.
  • Current Awareness Service – Announce newly acquired materials through OPAC (Book river) display, social media sites, e-bulletin board and library page.
  • Online Book Reservation and Renewal – this online facility allows patrons to reserve and/or renew materials using their TLC account through the library’s web OPAC or at the Circulation counter Section. This online facility is also synchronized to the Library System.
  • E-mail notification of overdue library materials - Patrons can also access their status information as to outstanding fine balances, estimated fines for items currently overdue, items on loan and items on reserve.
  • Cyber Search/Internet Service - It provides access to users and the opportunity to surf & navigate the information highway.
  • TurnItin Originality Checking Service - Turnitin is a web-based plagiarism checking tool to help faculty members and students to assess their research/ work for originality check and avoid plagiarism.
  • Photocopying - Photocopying of chapters from books may be allowed for personal use on the amount and substantiality of the portion copied.
  • Referral Service - Referral letters/forms to visit other libraries may be obtained from CLIR-Rizal.
  • Outside Researchers - CLIR attends to visiting users up to a maximum of five persons at one time. Outside researcher's fee is PhP 50.00 per day. They are required to present the referral letter from their library.
  • Orientation & Library Tour - It gives short information/lecture to the patrons and visitors of the library with regard to library facilities, services & policies.
  • Movie day @ CLIR - offers an alternative learning experience through Movie Tuesday at CLIR-Einstein and Movie Wednesday at CLIR-Rizal.

Facilities

  • Reading Areas – CLIR provide several reading areas offering different modes of seating as well.
  • ID Tapping kiosk- Convenient way of logging-in upon entry in CLIR-Rizal and CLIR-Einstein.
  • Discussion Rooms – Located in CLIR-Rizal, for group studies and presentation activities. Pre-booking is suggested. Maximum of Twenty-five (25) persons at a time.
  • Circulation Counter Section – lends and accepts return check-out and room-use books, provides assistance on online renewal, online book reservation, estimated fines for items currently overdue.
  • Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) – a web-based facility allowing library patrons to search all materials (books, journals, e-books, e-journals, non-print, etc.) available in the library. This also allows patrons to do online book reservation and renewal.
  • Wireless Internet – Library patrons can connect laptops and mobile devices to the wireless internet provided by the Institution.
  • Computer terminals – 37 computers with internet access are available to library users. Users must sign in first at CSA Online Log sheet.
